Unitary Multiperipheral Models*
The method of constructing unitary S-matrices developed in a recent paper is generalized and applied to two versions of the multiperipheral model. In these models the standard perturbation expansion of the S-matrix diverges, so an alternative expansion with improved convergence properties is developed. It is shown that the unitarity condition generates a new type of cut in the angular momentum ...
متن کاملA unitary model of schizophrenia: Bleuler's "fragmented phrene" as schizencephaly.
inding a unifying concept behind the diversity of signs and symptoms in schizophrenia is a central challenge to contemporary research. A neo-Bleulerian unitary model is described, which defines the illness as a neurodevelopmentally derived "misconnection syndrome," involving connections between cortical regions and the cerebellum mediated through the thalamus (the cortico-cerebellar-thalamic-co...
متن کاملUnitary Models of Multi - Particle Amplitudes
A class of models of multi-particle scattering and production amplitudes is constructed for which the S-matrix is exactly unitary at high energies. Two specific models are studied in detail. One leads to a constant total cross-section, the other to a logarithmically increasing one. Particle production in inclusive and exclusive experiments is considered for both models.
متن کاملUnitary and dual models of phenomenal consciousness
There is almost unanimous consensus among the theorists of consciousness that the phenomenal character of a mental state cannot exist without consciousness. We argue for a reappraisal of this consensus. We distinguish two models of phenomenal consciousness: unitary and dual. Unitary model takes the production of a phenomenal quality and it's becoming conscious to be one and the same thing. The ...
